New Years Resolution time...

Losing weight is typically on the top of my list but this year I want to accomplish a lot more than trying to shed those holiday lbs. So, I have now been in New York for 7 months but for some reason it still feels brand new. I have done so many things here, but in 2013 I really want to take advantage of this big bad city. Trying new things, going to cool restaurants, more museums, flea markets etc. This will also give me more blog posts which is obviously a huge plus.

I am headed to Vermont for New Years, Stratton VT that is, and all I can say is onesies all week. I am celebrating my birthday up there with a theme of HOT DOG meets Aspen Extreme. If you have not seen either of those movies....well you are seriously missing out.

It is going to be an epic 80's ski party with lots of neon and lots of tight pants... I think it's the perfect way to turn 29... don't you? I am going to leave you all with a sweet song that just gets me all pumped up to ski and dance. I will be back in the New Year, Merry Merry everyone and Happy New year!

Christmas shopping for your "Special" friend.

I am legit the worst present giver ever. Don't get me wrong, I love to give gifts but for some reason getting something for that special someone is the HARDEST thing in the world for me. I just over think everything haha... I mean... I am a female, over thinking is what we do best right?!?

This year I decided to give a more creative gift that has us doing something together...which, I would love to tell all about, but "somebody" might be reading this so I just can't. Let me just say, this might be the coolest gift I have ever gotten anyone, and I have some friends to thank for that (You know who you are so thanks for inspiring me).

This post is really for all those lacking inspiration this holiday season. A list of cool gifts that I believe to be extremely rad, for the person you love. Starting off with a guys gift guide. I have things for the outdoorsy guy, the hipster, the cruncher, the surfer, and if you know me at all the SKIER:).

What the hell should I write for my first post??

Well, I guess I can just tell you about my week full of live music, friends and just fun. It all began with Tuesday night when I went to a Band Of Horses show. If you haven't seen them, see them. They had a back to back show, starting with an acoustic set which was mind blowing and gave me goosebumps, especially when they crushed a Lynyrd Skynyrd cover of Simple Man.

Here's a short clip of my favorite song ...The Funeral in acoustic.

The electric show followed the acoustic which was just as incredible if not more. I was with my Co workers and the 3 of us danced, sang and met some very interesting people. There is something about concerts that truly makes me happy. It's an inspiring environment that I just cannot get enough of, its my drug and I would go to a live show every night if I had the stamina of a member of the Rolling Stones..HA.

Band Of Horses Killing it.

Me and My Co workers!

Deer Tick was the next show, which was Wednesday night at Brooklyn Bowl  which is one of my new favorite venues. It's intimate and you can bowl while you rock...pretty rad if you ask me. Before the Show my man friend and I went to dinner at this little pub like restaurant right in Williamsburg called  Teddy's Bar and Grill, all I can say is HOLY NACHOS! Probably the best I have had... EVER.

Deer Tick put on an epic show as per usual. Lead singer John McCauley's sultry voice never gets old. Vanessa Carleton had an appearance on stage which was interesting (ehh just don't care for her). The night was chill and filled with good blues/country/indie music which always puts a smile on my face.

Deer Tick

Sooo...I am very excited to say that an old friend of mine from growing up, his brother is in a band that will soon be touring with Deer Tick, they are  Two Gallants, and they are ridiculously awesome and happen to be VERY good looking (for the ladies). If you happen to be in Providence, RI on 12/30 go check them out. I will leave you all with one of my favorite songs by them, it just  brings me back to my SF Nights. Enjoy.

Have a Great Weekend.
