Hibernation is OVER!

Okay, so I know its been a LONG time... Im Sorry. I'm sure you have been REALLY sad...haha NOT.  Well, New York winters are long, cold, dark and depressing. It has been extremely hard to motivate to do just about anything. I cannot complain too much as I have had a very fun winter which included Ski trips to Jackson Hole, and to my beloved Tahoe. I also saw a number of concerts that were a blast and ate twice my body weight in food ha!

ABC Kitchen...One of my new Favorites, YUMMMERS

Spring has finally sprung here in New York and can you believe it, on April 30th it will have been 1 year since I moved here from San Francisco. I have absolutely no regrets and I am so happy I made that decision to come to the big apple. Bare with me as I get my thoughts organized and write some exceptional blog posts, BUT... to get you all Hot and bothered here is a song that I have added to my "spring" mix.  This remix makes me wanna take my shoes off and DANCE.

ENJOY. See you soon

Go Shawty It's Yo Birthday...MONTH

Here's the deal...I was born January 3rd, not the sweetest day as it is right after Christmas and new years so everyone and their mother is exhausted and have already started their new years resolutions which, usually includes NOT drinking or they haven't even returned from their various trips etc. Celebrating on my actual birthday is usually shot and no one is game to play, sooooo I try and make it a month long celebration...bratty? NO. Awesome? Hell YES.

But, I am not complaining as my actual birthday this year was phenomenal. My co-workers spoiled me with flowers, cookies and lunch (you gotta love a free meal). I also received a million messages from friends who live all over the map making me feel extremely loved. I am very lucky to have such incredible friends. Then, my "Man" friend organized a fabulous night on the town, including a delicious dinner at The Fat Radish, which if you are dieting I would not go to but it was freaking amazing (Clearly this gal ain't dieting haha). I loved the atmosphere, the service and well duh, the food. The grilled cheese was insane, the beets were delicious but Holy Crap, the Scotch Egg (which I have NEVER heard of before) was friggin amazing. I would definitely go back and get my grub on again, even if I only ordered 5 Scotch eggs... seriously breakfast spots need to add this to their menu STAT. I mean, egg covered in ridiculously delicious sausage...YES PLEASE....HEAVEN IN YOUR MOUTH.

Tonight, I am lucky to have a fabulous friend who has decided to host a dinner party for me, gosh 29 ain't so bad (haha). I am so lucky to have such amazing people in my life. I am very thankful for everyone and for this awesome year so far! 2013, LEZZ DO THIS. For the weekend I am leaving you with a dope song that I hope makes you wanna dance, as it makes me wanna shake it... till I break it.

HAPPY WEEKEND AND BIRTHDAY TO ME! MUAHAHAHA

New Years Resolution time...

Losing weight is typically on the top of my list but this year I want to accomplish a lot more than trying to shed those holiday lbs. So, I have now been in New York for 7 months but for some reason it still feels brand new. I have done so many things here, but in 2013 I really want to take advantage of this big bad city. Trying new things, going to cool restaurants, more museums, flea markets etc. This will also give me more blog posts which is obviously a huge plus.

I am headed to Vermont for New Years, Stratton VT that is, and all I can say is onesies all week. I am celebrating my birthday up there with a theme of HOT DOG meets Aspen Extreme. If you have not seen either of those movies....well you are seriously missing out.

It is going to be an epic 80's ski party with lots of neon and lots of tight pants... I think it's the perfect way to turn 29... don't you? I am going to leave you all with a sweet song that just gets me all pumped up to ski and dance. I will be back in the New Year, Merry Merry everyone and Happy New year!

Christmas shopping for your "Special" friend.

I am legit the worst present giver ever. Don't get me wrong, I love to give gifts but for some reason getting something for that special someone is the HARDEST thing in the world for me. I just over think everything haha... I mean... I am a female, over thinking is what we do best right?!?

This year I decided to give a more creative gift that has us doing something together...which, I would love to tell all about, but "somebody" might be reading this so I just can't. Let me just say, this might be the coolest gift I have ever gotten anyone, and I have some friends to thank for that (You know who you are so thanks for inspiring me).

This post is really for all those lacking inspiration this holiday season. A list of cool gifts that I believe to be extremely rad, for the person you love. Starting off with a guys gift guide. What the hell should I write for my first post??

Well, I guess I can just tell you about my week full of live music, friends and just fun. It all began with Tuesday night when I went to a Band Of Horses show. If you haven't seen them, see them. They had a back to back show, starting with an acoustic set which was mind blowing and gave me goosebumps, especially when they crushed a Lynyrd Skynyrd cover of Simple Man.

Here's a short clip of my favorite song ...The Funeral in acoustic.

The electric show followed the acoustic which was just as incredible if not more. I was with my Co workers and the 3 of us danced, sang and met some very interesting people. There is something about concerts that truly makes me happy. It's an inspiring environment that I just cannot get enough of, its my drug and I would go to a live show every night if I had the stamina of a member of the Rolling Stones..HA.

Band Of Horses Killing it.

Me and My Co workers!

Deer Tick was the next show, which was Wednesday night at Brooklyn Bowl  which is one of my new favorite venues. It's intimate and you can bowl while you rock...pretty rad if you ask me. Before the Show my man friend and I went to dinner at this little pub like restaurant right in Williamsburg called  Teddy's Bar and Grill, all I can say is HOLY NACHOS! Probably the best I have had... EVER.

Deer Tick put on an epic show as per usual. Lead singer John McCauley's sultry voice never gets old. Vanessa Carleton had an appearance on stage which was interesting (ehh just don't care for her). The night was chill and filled with good blues/country/indie music which always puts a smile on my face.

Deer Tick

Sooo...I am very excited to say that an old friend of mine from growing up, his brother is in a band that will soon be touring with Deer Tick, they are  Two Gallants, and they are ridiculously awesome and happen to be VERY good looking (for the ladies). If you happen to be in Providence, RI on 12/30 go check them out. I will leave you all with one of my favorite songs by them, it just  brings me back to my SF Nights. Enjoy.

Have a Great Weekend.

xoxo
